simplify

Hey all!

I've decided to simplify the design of my blog, it was beginning to bother me. Maybe it was too cluttery, or not feng shui...whatever the deeper meaning behind it, here it is! Do you like it? I have a question though, my computer screen at home is widescreen, so I was wondering on regular full screens how this blog shows up. Does it fit your screen? Because if it doesn't, I will change it to another simple layout. Anyway, that was random, I know. I am going to be a better blogger and blog about random things, just for the sake of blogging, because I realize that people still like to read about randomness. Plus we have some exciting things coming up worth blogging about. Okay, mamas, let me know if this format fits your screen, that's all for now! Also, does the playlist on the right drive you crazy? Or do you actually like the music? Please let me know!

What's your personality painting?

I found this on Lori's sight, who got it from Steph, who got it from Jen. Do you think this painting reflects my personality? Well, it was fun anyway! Click the link below to do it for yourself. Everyone's seems to be different.

sorry, friends, it's been too long!

I apologize once again for not blogging for a while, we all deserve a break once and a while.

I really want mom's out there to watch this clip. Although you think Jenny McCarthy may just be talking to Oprah about Autism, there is so much more. She talks about a wheat-free, dairy-free diet, she talks about vaccines and other toxins out there. And Mother's Intuition. We can cure our kids of autism and other ailments if we would just do the research and give an effort to what they are putting in their mouths! It's amazing! Please watch.

Can Christmas change the world?

What do you think of when you think of Christmas? It's different for all of us I'm sure. But if you're anything like me, I'm sick of consumerism being the theme for the Holidays. If I see another car commercial telling me that it's the perfect gift to his or her heart, I am gonna scream. I wanna say..."Who gives gifts like that, and if they do they've missed the point of christmas." I understand if people are not Christians that maybe Christmas is not about Christ's birth to them. But it's certainly not about trying to please another person so hard that you will go into debt trying to acheive.

Please consider with me changing what Christmas means to your family!
Watch these videos, and just listen, let it penetrate your heart, although hardened by mean crazy shoppers and advertisements that make you feel bad for who you really are.

Ba Hum Bug

What does Christmas mean to you? For many of us it's shaped by the way we grew up and the traditions we had, and our geographical location. I grew up beleiving in Santa Clause. And I was the best darn Santa follower you could ever meet. In fact, all year long I would try to be so good, because I knew that God would tell Santa and I didn't want to disappoint him. All the marketing for santa we see in movies and in toys and in reindeer movies, I bought it all. And christmas, oh christmas, there was something so magical about Christmas in my heart. I loved every piece of it. The lights, the tree, the snowmen, the garland, the gift wrap, the cooking, wearing red, writing a letter to Santa, leaving cookies and milk for him, racing home from a Christmas Eve party because I didn't want to miss out on Santa, I would search the sky for those reindeer...waiting, hoping, oh the mystery! The awe!

But why is it that when I learned the truth about Santa, that that all disappeared? The awe and beauty of christmas diminished. It could have been a number of things. It could have been that the family scenario changed and bit, and I was going through the awkward teen years. It could of been because I didn't really know Jesus, like I thought I knew Santa Clause, so to learn the He was the reason for the season, didn't mean much at the time.

But how about now? Now that I love the Lord and understand why Christmas came about. Why can't I return to awe and mystery I once had for the holiday?

Well, I leave that open ended. Because I have so many thoughts about Christmas, that one blog won't satisfy me. Please return to read more. I am investigating my feelings, and so many other's about Christmas. And what has happened to us as a society. Please come back and share your thoughts!

Dear Daddy!

Dear Daddy,
I miss you a whole lot but I know you are making us proud in India, at least that is what Mommy tells me. She says that you are living out some adventures that you will tell us about when you get back. She says that the kind of stories you are going to tell us, you cannot find in storybooks, I'm really excited about it. I've been playing with Uncle Ez and Drew and they remind me of you. I'm going to dress up for you and make a sign so that you won't miss us at the airport when we pick you up. Here are some videos of some things I've been doing while you are gone.

Here is me playing the piano at Aunt Tammy's

And here is me on the farm with Happy the dog! She is so cool!

And here is me with about a million kitties, I think they like me a lot!

And I spent a lot of time looking out the window on the farm, I didn't want to be inside ever!

Your one and only Asher, I love you! :)

Snow!

We got snow for the first time today! It's been snowing up in the mountains for a week or more and it was 80 yesterday here. So none of it's sticking to the ground, today the temp is between 40 and 50, brrrrrr. Which is good for us as we do some traveling soon. The pics aren't very great but I wanted to show our first snow.
Also below are some video of Asher dancing and playing. Again, no sound it's on my tiny digital camera and the quality isn't the greatest. But Ash was watching Daddy's video today and Josh, you'll know which part I'm talking about, but Ash is responding to some stuff in the video and halfway through the short video he's dancing to the music. I can't edit these videos otherwise I would cut parts of them and show only the exciting stuff.

Then, after Dad introduces the animals in the video and we are finished watching the video, I distracted Asher in his bedroom and then sat out the gifts for Asher in the living room. He saw them from the top of the stairs and got really excited, this video is a little longer. I think he really likes the giraffe as his favorite. I wish I had sound, because Ash is making all these weird animals sounds, it's so cute!

Asher at the Fire Station

This is mostly for Daddy, but I know the granparents enjoy it too. I took Asher to the open house at the Fire Station the other day. He kept saying "whoa, whoa, whoa." I think it was a little overwhelming, all the big vehicles. He loved the old antique fire truck more than the big ones (and we took a ride in it), and he was almost more impressed by the man in the motorized wheel chair. They had demonstrations with the big fire hose, and of rescuing someone at the scen of the accident, it was really professional. He wouldn't crack a smile for me though, he was taking it all in and he made his mom wear his fire man hat. Enjoy the pics and videos. There is no sound, and he gets knocked at the end by a girl running by, but don't worry he survived.

Here are some clips for Dad too, of Asher running really fast at Dinosaur land and showing off his jumping skills, enjoy!

Thanks Daddy!

Josh made the cutest videos for Asher to watch of him while he's gone. So we watched the first one today. This one had him and Asher in it, reading a couple of his favorite books, teaching him about his face (eyes, nose, mouth), and showing him his new car, and then I gave the car to Ash in person. So after naptime, Ash sat down in his green chair with a little snack and watched it. The video doesn't have sound, it's on my small digitial camera, but it's so cute, Asher gives his dad a high-five when Josh asks for it and towards the end raises his arms up when hid Daddy prompts it!
