Changes!

So we've had some changes in our family recently. The first change came when we found out Josh has an intolerance to wheat and gluten, also known as Celiac Disease. It's similar to an allergy, but he doesn't swell up or kill over if he has those ingredients. It comes in the way of stomache, intenstinal problems. And if you don't do something about it, it could ruin the lining of the intestine over time which would lead to other problems. So needless to say, we have had to rearrange some things. I'm working hard to make it a comfortable life change. I've been experimenting with bread recipes and cookies and stuff trying to find the best flours that make the best taste. I will be blogging about these new discoveries in my new blog titles: The Gluten-Free Gourmet, at www.gluten-freegourmet.blogspot.com. If you were guessing how many flours goes into gluten, wheat-free bread, four or five is the right answer, depending on the recipe.

Our second change came when Asher started crawling. He's not our tiny baby anymore. I was just getting over the shock of him learning to clap when he just decides he knows how his legs and arms all work together. You should have seen the look on his face, he was so excited, so proud of himself. Although my life is a bit more complicated, I am enjoying it. He can play by himself for longer periods of time now because when he wants something he just gets it now. Let's just say, I am learning the art of barricading.

yeah! my friend is allergic to wheat and gluten...it's tough. She's lost so much weight since she found out. It's strange how much she can't eat...pop, candy, most alcoholic beverages, processed foods, breads...I feel for him!

And Asher is lovely:)
